RULES FOR THE DAY
English or Western tack/attire is permitted.
Western hat or helmet is mandatory in all classes.
Anyone registered as a competitor must be in English or Western attire at all times while competing.
Tack and attire must be in clean working order.
Proper footwear is required. No casual shoes allowed in arena. Boots must have a minimum ½” heel.
All competitors under the age of 18 MUST wear a CSA approved helmet.
One horse one rider, with the exception that lead line may ride a horse that has already competed in another division.
Competitors can choose to compete in all or individual classes. Points accumulated in each class will go towards over all prizes of the day.
Judges will be assigned to each class; Judges decisions will be final.
Any concerns will be heard and settled by the JAS Committee
RULES FOR EACH CLASS
Obstacles Class:
Each obstacle will have a point value attached to it. Competitors will have 3 minutes to successfully complete as many obstacles as possible.
Times will be recorded and used to break ties between competitors with equal point earnings.
Obstacles may be taken in any order and may be attempted as many times as needed to succeed but points are only allotted once per obstacle.
Barrel Race:
The standard gymkhana barrel racing pattern will be used.
Three barrels placed in a clover leaf pattern.
Participant may either start by turning the right barrel first followed by two left turns or may take the left barrel first followed by two right hand turns.
Electronic timers will be used.
Knock down of a barrel will result in a 10 second penalty.
Thread the Needle:
This speed event involves racing up to five poles at the far end of the arena.
Entering between the first four poles which are set up four feet apart and ten feet long, wrapping around the fifth pole and racing home between the first four poles again.
Knock down of a pole will result in a 10 second penalty
Ground Roping:
Ropes will be provided or bring your own.
Competitors do not need a horse for this class.
Each person will get 10 tries to rope our dummies.
Placings will be based on number of clean catches.
Any ties will result in a rope off.
GENERAL RULES AND INFORMATION
All JRC Facility Rules, as posted, shall apply.
In Addition:
Camping and trailer areas must be cleaned of all refuse and manure.
Water and feed for horses WILL NOT be supplied—–PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN
Overnight camping (no power, water or sewer) is available with a permit.
