Recreational Tee-Ball and Softball is gearing up for another season of fun. This is a parent-lead, rural softball program is aimed at teaching the fundamentals of the sport. Much like minor hockey, coaches come from the parent/grandparent group of the kids registered. Josephburg Ag Society has invested in new equipment recently and are happy to provide the basic structure to the program with coordinators to organize the teams.
Josephburg has excellent shale ball diamonds, a great place to learn and grow your player’s interest in softball.
Tee-Ball – Ages 3 to 5
Softball – Ages 6 to 16
You need a ball glove, a good pair of runners and not-your-best t-shirt to start. We will have t-shirts and ball caps for the kids on order. We have bats, bases, limited helmets and balls.
**HELMET UPDATE – if you have a ball helmet, please bring it (not a bike/horse helmet or similar). We have a limited number of ball helmets. They are in short supply right now so this is a bit of a transition year while we encourage participants to bring their own while providing what we can.

Parent Volunteers set-up and take-down the Ball Equipment at each game. Depending on total Registration on some days, instead of game play, a Tee-Ball team may be learning at Skills Stations.
On those days the Coaching team will help their players at the Batting Station, the Throwing Station or the Catch and Throw Station.
Coaches will also bring out to the Field a Hand Sanitizer Cart for Players and Coaches to use, that will be kept on the Field of Play and they will use Alcohol wipes to clean equipment after each game.
Field Safety Parent – Does a quick walk around all 3 Diamonds looking for debris or perhaps other issues like a dead bird which they would remove or perhaps wasp nests that the County would deal with.
